Scriviamo un blog !

Una bella maniera di far conoscere quello in cui crediamo a molte persone e’ scrivere un blog. Il Vangelo di Gesu’ Cristo e l’ unico cammino per trovare la felicita’ in questa vita e nella vita dopo la morte. Molte persone piu’ o meno credono in questa affermazione ma ho notato che credere vagamente in queste promesse non e’ sufficiente, a volte e’ persino controproduttivo.

Sono nato e cresciuto in Italia dove quasi tutti sono cattolici, almeno di nome, ma non ho visto molte persone che veramente erano felici per credere in affermazioni tipo quella che ho appena fatto. E io pure ero abbastanza confuso e per niente felice !
A circa 15 anni ho cominciato a interessarmi di religione ed a cercare le risposte alle domande che non erano risposte da amici, famigliari, o preti.

Soltanto dopo molta ricerca, e quando ero pronto, ho avuto la benedizione di incontrare i missionari della chiesa mormone che mi hanno aiutato a conoscere il vero Vangelo di Gesu’ Cristo.

Alcuni diranno: “ma aspetta un po’: eri cattolico da quando eri nato, e hai avuto bisogno dei missionari mormoni per conoscere il Vangelo di Gesu’ Cristo ?”

Diciamo la verita’: ho imparato molte cose nella Chiesa Cattolica: ho imparato il sufficiente per volere di piu’. Qualcosa mancava secondo me nella dottrina cattolica, qualche cosa che mi impediva di essere veramente felice.

Diciamo che la lettera della legge era chiara, ma il potere dello Spirito era quello che mancava. Inoltre alcune dottrine erano confuse o mi sembravano sbagliate. Pensate nell’ idea del limbo, del purgatorio, dei preti come unici intermediari, dell’ idea che non sposarci e’ una cosa positiva (vedi i preti) e cosi’ via.

I mssionari mormoni (o della Chiesa di Gesu’ Cristo dei Santi degli Ultimi Giorni) mi hanno aperto le porte a un intero nuovo mondo di conoscimenti che mi hanno permesso di trovare quello che stavo cercando.

Sono felice adesso? Molto di piu’. Non e’ ancora una allegira perfetta perche’ questa sara’ solo possibile nel regno celeste, ma sono in pace, so come affrontare i problemi, so come andare avanti senza disperarmi anche quando ci sono problemi che sembrano insormontabili.

Insomma, la dottrina e le ordinanze della Chiesa Mormone aprono la porta alla vera felicita’. Naturalmente, essere membri della Chiesa non e’ sufficiente, perche’ dobbiamo viverne i principi ogni giorno, e a volte sbagliamo. Pero’ sapere i principi corretti aiuta quando dobbiamo fare delle scelte.

Ci sono persone che sono felici anche senza essere mormoni ? Puo’ darsi, probabilmente. Io credo che quelli che stanno facendo del loro meglio con la luce che hanno ricevuto (anche se limitata) per lo meno si sentono in pace con la loro coscienza… ma c’ e’ qualcosa di piu’ anche per loro.

Ma stavo dicendo riguardo scrivere un blog… bene, Maria ne ha comiciato uno con la sua storia. Leggetela, e’ interessante

Mãos que Ajudam

O programa Mãos que Ajudam é um programa permanente de ajuda humanitária e de serviço comunitário, que mobiliza milhares de voluntários de todas as idades, membros d´A Igreja de Jesus Cristo dos Santos dos Últimos Dias, no Brasil, estendendo a mão a quem precisa.

For example, cerca de 80 mil voluntários do Programa Mãos que Ajudam, de A Igreja de Jesus Cristo dos Santos dos Últimos Dias, 50 mil dos quais são crianças, celebrarão o feriado nacional de 12 outubro com a realização do projeto �"Mãozinhas que Ajudam a cuidar da cidade”. Nessa ocasião, aproximadamente 320 praças e parques públicos dos 26 estados brasileiros serão revitalizados.

A “comprehensive” exam may be a real problem…

October 23rd I was scheduled to take my Comprehensive exam for my PhD program in Marriage, Family and Human Development at Brigham Young University (yes, I am a Mormon)
The exam went well and I passed. But one thing that I remembered when I was preparing for the “comprehensive” exam is what happened to a friend a few years ago.

This friend, César, was in his first semester at BYU in his master degree in math. He heard that in one of the classes there would be a final “comprehensive” exam and he thought that “comprehensive” was the translation of the Portuguese “comprensivo” that means “understanding” or “benevolent”.

Since he had to take many other finals he decided that it was not worth to study a lot for that “comprensivo” exam but… as all the English speaking people know, usually a “comprehensive” exam is not “comprensivo” at all…

I am sure that my friend César now knows very well the difference between the two words.

Perdi um amigo… mas somente por algum tempo

Eu perdi um amigo alguns dias atrás, Luiz Silva, un amigo brasileiro que vivia em Utah. Ele tinha 48 anos e passou mal enquanto estava jogando bola. Ele foi levado para o hospital mas não tinha nada para fazer; os medicos descobriram que ele tinha um tumor no cerebro e uma veia estava mandando sangue no cerebro.

In Orem, Utah, há um ramo em lingua portuguesa da Igreja Mórmon onde todos são amigos e onde todos se conhecem. Muitas pessoas foram para o hospital para dar força e orar por Luiz.

Porém não tinha nada para fazer. A esposa, muito triste, me disse que ultimamente Luiz estava sempre mais interessado em saber mais sobre o mundo espiritual e a vida depois da morte. Provavelmente agora ele sabe tudo o que queria saber.

Enquanto tudo isto estava acontencendo eu tive muitos sentimentos diferentes, incluída uma grande tristeza para a familia, mas ao mesmo tempo uma alegria para ele, pois ele foi para um lugar melhor.

Mais uma vez este tipo de experiencia me fez sentir que somos muito abençoados por que conhecemos os principios do evangelho de Jesus Cristo como ensinado pela Igreja de Jesus Cristo dos Santos dos Últimos Dias ou Igreja Mormon

Sabemos que as famílias podem ser eternas quando são sugeladas nos templos mormons por quem tem a autoridade de sugelar (em outras palavras, ligar) as familias para a eternidade.

Eu tenho muitos amigos em varios paises que eu gostaria pudessem aprender mais sobre estes princípios e ser selados com suas famílias por toda a eternidade assim que a morte não tenho poder duradouro sobre eles.

Quando una grande perdita como esta apresenta-se em nossa vida, saber que se seguirmos os ensinamentos do evangelho de Jesus Cristo e recebermos as ordenanças necessárias poderemos viver juntos com nossas famílias por toda a eternidade e’ um grande consolo.

Mas não é somente um grande consolo… o que é importate é que é verdadeiro.

Por aquilo que eu sei nenhuna outras religião ou igreja cristã ensina este princípio tão claramente.

Eu sou muito feliz por ter-me tornado um membro de a Igreja de Jesus Cristo dos Santos dos Últimos Dias mais de 20 anos atrás, pois muitas benções vieram na minha vida por causa disso.

Querido Luiz, nos veremos em breve.

Ho perso un amico…ma solo per un po’

Ho perso un amico oggi, Luiz Silva, un brasiliano che vive in Utah. Aveva 48 anni e si e’ sentito male mentre stava giocando a pallone. L’ hanno portato all’ ospedale ma non c’e’ stato niente da fare, hanno scoperto che aveva un tumore nel cervello e una vena era scoppiata e stava riversando sangue nella testa.

In Orem, Utah, c’e’ un ramo in lingua portoghese della Chiesa Mormone ed e’ un ramo dove tutti si conoscono e sono amici. Molte persone sono andate all’ ospedale per dare forza alla famiglia e pregare per Luiz.

Purtroppo non c’ e’ stato niente da fare. La moglie, molto triste, mi ha detto che ultimamente Luiz era sempre piu’ interessato in sapere di piu’ riguardo la vita dopo la morte. Probabilmente adesso sa molto di piu’ che alcuni giorni fa.

Mentre tutto questo stava succedendo ho avuto molti sentimenti, inclusa una grande tristezza, piu’ per la famiglia che resta qui che per lui, dato che so che Luiz e’ andato in un posto migliore.

Ma ancora una volta questo tipo di esperienza mi ha fatto sentire come siamo fortunati a conoscere i principi del vangelo di Gesu’ Cristo come sono insegnati nella Chiesa di Gesu Cristo dei Santi degli Ultimi Giorni o Chiesa Mormone.

Sappiamo che le famiglie possono essere eterne quando sono suggellate nei Templi Mormoni da chi ha l’ autorita’ di suggellare (in altre parole, legare) le famiglie per l’ eternita’.

Quanti amici italiani io ho che vorrei che conoscessero questi principi per poter unire le loro famiglie per l’ eternita‘.

Quando una grande perdita come questa si presenta nella nostra vita, sapere che se seguiamo gli insegnamenti del Vengelo del Salvatore e riceviamo le ordinanze necessarie potremo vivere insieme per sempre e’ una grande consolazione.

Ma non e’ solo una grande consolazione.. quello che e’ importante e’ che e’ vero.

Per quello che ne so nessuna altra religione o chiesa cristiana spiega questo principio dell’ eternita’ delle famiglie cosi’ chiaramente.

Sono felice per essere diventato membro della Chiesa di Gesu’ Cristo dei Santi degli Ultimi Giorni piu’ di 20 anni fa. Molte benedizioni sono arrivate nella mia vita a causa di quella scelta.

Caro Luiz, ci vedremo in breve.

Tips for Search Engine Optimization

I have found some time ago an interesting paper with tips for search engine optimization. I think that it has very simple and interesting tips for those who are not already gurus on the subject.

OFF-PAGE OPTIMIZATION
�"Off-page optimization” involves changing things that are not on your website in order to achieve higher search engine rankings.

10. BACKLINKS There isn’t much to off-page optimization other than backlinks. �"Backlinks” are links from other sites to your website. The more links coming back to your site the more important it must be, or so the search engines figure. The process of getting other sites to link back to your’s is called �"link recruitment” and it is critical. No matter what you do, if a competitor has 500 backlinks and you have 10 it will be difficult for you to rank as high.

Backlinks can be put into two categories; paid and unpaid. For many industries there are online directories where you can pay for inclusion and get a link back to your site. There are often free directories as well. The best way to start recruiting links is to search for one of your keywords, and then visit each site that comes up as a result. The more of those sites that already rank high for your keyword that you can get to link back to you the better. This will boost your own ranking, and if you have a new website that isn’t indexed in search engines yet it is also the fastest way to get your site indexed.

Many directories will link to you if you link to them. Generally these should be avoided, although not always. Do not link to or gather links from websites that have nothing to do with what you do or which appear to not be reputable in any way.

Not only is it important to recruit as many links as possible, but the text of those links is important as well. Try to make sure that when someone links to you your keywords are included somehow within the text of the link.

This is an excerpt from President Gordon B. Hinckley, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church):

“I am now advised that there are 6,066 Church-owned satellite receiving sites in 83 countries. How grateful I am that with our growth in numbers there is also an increased ability to reach out and communicate with the Latter-day Saints throughout the world.

Now, we could wish for more baptisms in the United States and Canada, but that could be said of everywhere throughout the world. Nevertheless, the harvest is great, with members in some 160 nations. Where not long ago there were very few Latter-day Saints, today there are strong wards and stakes, with faithful and capable men and women in leadership.

Though there are limitations on our ability to travel where we might, there is compensation in the ability of the First Presidency, members of the Twelve, and the Seventy to speak by satellite to large numbers of stakes throughout the world.

Circumstances change, but our message does not change. We bear testimony to the world that the heavens have been opened, that God, our Eternal Father, and His Son, the risen Lord, have appeared and spoken. We offer our solemn witness that the priesthood has been restored with the keys and authority of eternal blessings.”

Circumstances changes: we need to use our God-given gift of the Internet to let our voices be heard in all the world. The message is the same, but the time is short, and we need to make sure that the elect will hear the message and follow the Master.

Ally my Mormon friends, consider using a blog or a website to help people hear the message of salvation.
